TaskbarX for Windows 11: Limitations

Before downloading TaskbarX for Windows 11, read the developer’s documented version cutoff and native alignment options.

Windows 11 compatibility

TaskbarX was built for the Windows 10 taskbar. Its archived README says the original Windows 11 functionality stops beyond build 22621.1265, a February 2023 cutoff. A release note about 22H2 does not prove current Windows 11 compatibility.

Check your exact build

  1. Press Win+R, enter winver, and note the complete OS build.
  2. Compare it with the project README's support note.
  3. For ordinary icon alignment, open Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → Taskbar behaviors.
  4. Use built-in Center/Left alignment without installing a legacy taskbar utility.

Why screenshots can be misleading

Older TaskbarX screenshots show how the program works with a classic taskbar. They do not establish compatibility with Windows 11 23H2, 24H2, or newer builds. Changing Explorer with third-party patchers adds separate update and recovery risks.
